Brexit update: the importance of a customs power of attorney

Although COVID-19 is affecting the Brexit negotiations, as of today negotiations between the EU and the UK are again being conducted via video conference. Three rounds of negotiations, each lasting one week in April, May, and June are planned to advance the details of a trade agreement. Currently, the end of the transition phase for Brexit is December 31, 2020, and DACHSER continues to prepare for this date.

A number of important points need to be taken into account when preparing for the Brexit, for example, a customs power of attorney from the relevant recipients is essential for handling shipments to and from the UK. Therefore, we ask our customers to continue to advise their consignees to provide us with the necessary customs power of attorney.

Dachser announces Executive Board for the future

After 31 years of close cooperation in operational management positions at DACHSER, CEO Bernhard Simon and his deputy Michael Schilling, COO Road Logistics, will join the logistics provider’s Supervisory Board in 2021, with Bernhard Simon becoming its chairperson. Burkhard Eling, who joined the DACHSER Executive Board as CFO in 2013, will become the new CEO of the family-owned company on January 1, 2021.

DACHSER announces twelve more zero-emission delivery areas in Europe
DACHSER is significantly expanding its emission-free delivery of non-chilled groupage shipments to defined downtown areas. By the end of 2025, the logistics provider plans to launch DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery in twelve more European cities: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin, Hamburg, Cologne, London, Malaga, Rotterdam, Stockholm, Toulouse, Warsaw, and Vienna. In addition, the company will expand its existing zero-emission delivery area in Paris.
