DACHSER UK Colleagues Nominated for Northamptonshire Logistics Awards

Ben Tompkins has been with DACHSER for more than six years, originally joining the company through its apprenticeship scheme. During his two-year rotation, he gained valuable experience across all departments before joining the controlling team as a Junior Controller. Since then, he has steadily progressed to become Team Leader of Controlling Midlands and South. In his role, Ben plays a key part in tender management, financial budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis, making him an indispensable member of the business.

Reflecting on his nomination, Ben said: “I’m honoured to be nominated for this award, and it means a lot to see my work recognised within such a strong logistics community. I’ve been fortunate to grow with DACHSER, and I’m grateful for the support of my colleagues along the way. It will be a fantastic evening to celebrate the achievements of so many talented professionals in our industry.”

Shuaib Djama, also a graduate of the DACHSER apprenticeship programme, has been with the company for over two years. During his rotation, he supported various departments and developed a broad understanding of the logistics operation before choosing to specialise in sales. Now part of the sales team, Shuaib plays a crucial role in securing new clients while continuing to deliver excellent service to existing customers. He is already embracing the culture and ethos of the group while building valuable client connections.

Speaking about his nomination, Shuaib said: “Joining DACHSER as an apprentice gave me a brilliant insight into every department and how the business operates. I’m now using that knowledge in my role within the sales team, where I’ve been able to grow, learn, and take on new challenges. I’m looking forward to celebrating alongside others in the logistics industry who are making a difference every day.”
